Jump Rope Jill came to show off her tricks last year at Russell Street School. I thought the kids at Pukeokahu School might be interested to see how a pro does Jump Rope.
This is Thomas’ procedure about how to make a scary matchbox trick, you can see his original post on his ePortfolio along with other procedures that he has written.
You will need a match box and some sissors and a red white boared marker and two cotton balls.
Cut a hole in the back of the little match box.
Then cut a little hole on top of the match box shell.
Then you put some cotton balls in the little tray.
Then you colour in the cotton balls with the white board marker.
This is Lochy’s procedure about how to make a very cool pop-up card, you can see his original post on his ePortfolio along with other procedures that he has written.
In addition to a locals dinner, where 15% of bar sales that night will go to this worthy group, the Many Miles for Mary Education Team will be stopping in at our school at 1.30pm.
The education team will be talking to the students about the charity run, about the charities, and also educate on health and physical activity. Following this, the kids will get an opportunity to participate in a fun exercise circuit to support the run and to get involved in physical activity (I thought that this would be great since we have already begun training for our cross-country next term). Also the kids have an opportunity if they choose to, to get sponsorship or donation for completing the activity programme with proceeds going to the charities. (eg. gold coin donation).
All are welcome to join us that afternoon to participate in the activities and discussion. Also if you are really keen, you can join the runners the next morning (6am) as they set off on the next stage of their run.
Google have come up with a fun and clever way of telling stories through the use of its search engine. This is one of my favourites, which I thought you might enjoy. You can see more search stories here. (I also love the Cookie Monster Story!)
A Twitter friend of mine tweeted this TED Talk the other day and I quite liked it. I know I did 5 of the dangerous things he suggested when I was a child. Maybe we should have a Tinkering Day at school sometime? Who wants to volunteer to mind the fire?
I would probably include cooking freestyle to this list and blowing something up (preferably not together though).
I love this Youtube Clip. It was made as part of a University project and you can see the making of clip here. Animation is my favourite form of film making and I am looking forward to doing some animation with the kids next term.
