From Marama

I think that I am going to have to create a new section in our Community Newsletter.  The “Wally of the Week” section and I am afraid that I will have to be the inaugural member of this esteemed club.  In a moment of complete ‘Walliness’ I left the school house keys in Palmerston North, and upon arriving home on Sunday evening I realised that I had locked myself out of the house hmmmm.
Anyway, to cut a long and embarrassing story short, Carol and I could not find a spare set of keys anywhere so Andy kindly lent us Millie to pop through the open bathroom window (she did make me feel a little better when she said “I had to do this for Mr Pirie too!”).  Unfortunately I did have to enter and exit my house through the lounge window for a few hours before I figured out how to open the double doors on the deck (sigh).  Anyone wish to hazard a guess as to what Millie’s exciting news was on Monday morning?

Congratulations!

We have had quite a baby boom out here in Puke Land!  Congratulations to Jenna, Josh, Paparangi and Tiana on the arrival of a beautiful baby boy on Wednesday Morning.

First Aid Course

Sandra Spiers will come out and take anyone who is interested in a First Aid Course.  If you have done a course and it is less than two years and three months old you can do a refresher which will keep it current.  She is very flexible to when she can come out.  If you are interested, please ring Maryanne 388 0327.

Waimarino Pony Club Horse Trek – 22 May

A one day trek over Puke Hill – Pukeokaka.  Raising Funds for the Waimarino Pony Club.  For further information please ring Sue or Kendra 388 1430 or email k.s.pye@xtra.co.nz

The 40 hour Famine

This kicks off on Friday 21st of May.  Unfortunately I am away that week so I will be unable to organise a school event.  However, if your children would still like to participate as individuals I have all of the booklets and information at school.  Alternatively you can register on-line if you wish at

Pow Wow Evening – Next Evening 24 May

Thank you for a lovely evening last night ladies.  Remember all are invited, either bring your own project or join in with our group project, here at the school from 7pm onwards.  Our first project for this year is a beautiful quilted Christmas Stocking.  You will need – your sewing machine; scissors (+ cutter and board if you have them); red sewing thread; and pins.
We will also have an informal book club attached to the evening.  Just bring along any books or magazines that you would like to share.
Thanks Marama and Heather
