Principal/Classroom Teacher

Marama in Kyoto

Marama Stewart (Bachelor of Maori Education)

Hi, my name is Marama Stewart (nee Te Pou) and I am very pleased to be teaching up here in Pukeokahu.  I moved to the district just before Christmas 2009, after teaching for four years in Palmerston North.  My husband Cody and I have been married since 2007 and we are both looking forward to spending our first winter here together in the snow.  This is my first principal position and I am looking forward to the challenges such a position will present.  My teaching strengths are eLearning or ICT, Literacy, Sports and Film Making.   I enjoy being able to integrate powerful technologies with sound teaching practice.  Please feel free to pop into school to visit us any time!

Classroom Teacher

Carol Gilbert

Hello. My name is Carol Gilbert and I have lived in Pukeokahu since 1988. The school almost feels like a second home as I have been involved with it either as a teacher, parent or board member for over twenty years. The quality that I consider the pupils best asset is the “I can do that” attitude they have towards anything they are asked to tackle, whether it is in the classroom, sporting or something right out of their comfort zone like rock climbing or sailing around Wellington harbour.
