From Marama
Wow, we are in week seven already! I am sure that every year, every term seems to shoot by faster and faster. The kids have been busy investigating possible activities for our school camp to Auckland. Max has done a great job collating these suggestions on Google Wave and plotting them on to a Google Map. While Lochy and Jonny have been working on the menu and pricing the shopping list using the on-line Woolworth’s store (I must admit that I did have a little chuckle as I heard the boys discussing the price of bread and milk
Pukeokahu School 2:30pm Closing
This begins next week since winter has finally arrived. Our lunch time will be shortened to half an hour to accommodate this time change. Also next week on Tuesday (first day back) I have the second half of my Work Place First Aid Course at 3pm in Taihape. Therefore I will need to leave school right on 2.30pm. I don’t mean to sound pushy, but could we make sure there are no late pick ups on that day? Thank you
Pukeokahu School Camp to Auckland
Parents and Families – Could I please have your final confirmed numbers for this year’s camp in writing please. Please fill out the attached form and return to school by Friday 11th June.
Horse Trek DVDs Available $20 Each
Brian Megaw has done a fabulous job creating the Pukeokahu Horsetrek 2010 DVD. See beautiful scenic shots of the trek as well as video interviews with the organizers and riders. I am defiantly going to have to learn to ride so that I can go next year! If you would like a copy, please contact Maryanne 388 0327.
Wanted Old Tidy Curtains
We are have a bit of trouble seeing the projector on our whiteboard with the glare through the windows. Does anyone have any old tidy curtains that they could donate to the school. They need at least a two meter drop. They do not need to be thermal backed.
Wanted Pinecones for the School Fire
We are running a bit short on kindling and pinecones this year. Any donations would be fantastic and make the job of starting the fire a lot easier in the morning.
First Aid Course
I would just like to thank Maryanne for organizing our First Aid Course last Thursday night. It was a well run, educational evening with a fantastic pot luck dinner! I would also like to thank Sandra Spier for coming all the way out here to run the evening.

- On the Digital Safety Page – A very good video about keeping safe when using the internet and social networking sites.
- Also a set of new Pages called “Learning Tools” – If you are interested in the digital learning tools students at Pukeokahu School are using and you would like to have a go yourself, see the Learning Tools Pages for simple How-To instructions.
